121 missing children and 141 adult victims found.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reported this week that Operation Cross Country located over 200 human trafficking victims in the first two weeks of August. The FBI has some capabilities to investigate and stop trafficking, but Operation Cross Country is a coordinated effort with federal agencies, police agencies, and trafficking victim specialists to bring more intense and accurate investigations to a local level. The operation also partners with pertinent social services to help trafficking victims rebuild their lives once they have been found.
“What we do is we sit down with our local partners and our task forces and identify certain areas where we know sex trafficking is prevalent, and we’ll dedicate resources and efforts to identify and remove victims from those areas,” stated FBI Violent Crime Section Chief Jose Perez.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For FBI agents as they seek to locate and rescue victims of human trafficking.
- For U.S. agencies and specialists as they assist survivors of trafficking operations.
- For the healing and recovery of those who have been trafficked.
